| I have done very little to the suspension so far. At the stock z71 ride height the truck had a serious rake to it. It was close to 3" higher in the back than the front. I learned with my last truck that lowering it reduces weight transfer and front wheel hop, so I did that right away. I took the stock lift blocks out of the back, then I put shackles in the back for a total drop of 3" in the rear. The front was dropped about 1.25" with just loosening the tortion bars and trimming the bump stops.
I am still getting too much weight transfer, which in my case is not a good thing. I am going to have to look into steps to reduce weight transfer even more. I don't plan any drastic changes to the suspension. Possibly I'll try some adjustable shocks some day. |
